Designed by Stanford White and constructed in 1884, Lovely Lane is on the National Register of Historic Places. The domed ceiling mural depicts the exact position of the constellations and planets the night the church was consecrated. Working with star charts, we plotted the star positions on the scaffold deck and then projected them onto the ceiling. Clouds surround the perimeter and gilded flames emphasized the light from the gas lights that were originally part of the cornice. The pipe organ was gilded with Dutch metal and stenciled.
